02:15:00 • Col de Portet from Saint Lary Soulan (2215m)
Beautiful climb - especially above the clouds. Watch out for sheep and cows on the descent. The second part after it becomes a track is very challenging. Take a lamp for the tunnel (sleeping sheep in there).
03:58:00 • Col du Tourmalet from Sainte Marie de Campan (2115m)
A slog up the most famous col in Pyrenees - placing of Le Giant and the cycling transumance. Wonderful experience but had to stop in La Mongie for a hot chocolate and Pain a Raisin.
01:26:00 • Hourquette d'Ancizan from Campan (1564m)
Beautifully quite with forests and wide open spaces. Perfect to combine with the Aspin.
01:14:45 • Col d'Aspin from Arreau (1489m)
A classic climb, not too difficult but with a few surprises around the '5 to go' mark. Very busy with campervans and motorbikes in the summer. Gets the heat with not a lot of shade on a sunny day so leave early.
